Overview

Verve Goodlife Promo 7.0 is a nationwide rewards campaign that encourages Verve cardholders to transact with partner brands in exchange for cashback, discounts, and exclusive lifestyle rewards.

As the lead designer, I developed the campaign's visual concept and built a scalable design system that worked across multiple partners while solving an unexpected production challenge.

The Challenge

Before the campaign could launch, every visual featuring a recognisable face would require APCON approval, including identity documentation for each person shown.

With multiple adaptations planned across different partner brands, relying on visible faces would add production overhead and slow the rollout. At the same time, the campaign still needed to feel human, aspirational, and instantly recognisable.

The Insight

Instead of asking how to hide faces, I asked a different question. What if the reward became the hero instead of the person?

That shift became the foundation of the entire campaign. Rather than focusing on the individual, each visual centred on an oversized object representing the reward or partner experience. A human figure stayed in frame to give the scene scale and warmth, but no face appeared. The reward carried the story.

The solution cleared the compliance challenge while creating a distinctive visual language unique to the campaign.

The Idea & Hero Objects

Every partner represented a different lifestyle. Instead of unrelated adverts, I designed each execution around a single hero object that immediately communicated the experience.

A Glovo delivery bag overflowing with food represented convenience. A grocery box represented everyday shopping. A luxury gift case represented premium rewards. A giant Verve card became the campaign's most recognisable visual. A basket of digital subscriptions represented entertainment and lifestyle services.

Each execution told a different story while staying part of the same campaign family.

Building a Scalable System

The campaign needed to support multiple partners, categories, and future adaptations without losing consistency. I built a modular system around four principles.

Each partner was represented by one oversized object that immediately communicated the reward category.

Human Presence Without Identity
The figures gave scale, interaction, and warmth without showing a face, satisfying APCON requirements while keeping each visual engaging.

Flexible Adaptation

New partners could be added without redesigning the campaign. Changing the hero object created a new execution while preserving the identity.

How it was made

The campaign used no original photography. I sourced licensed imagery from Shutterstock and generated additional elements with AI, then composited, manipulated, and retouched everything into finished art. Working without a photographed person reinforced the core idea.

With no individual's identity attached to any visual, the campaign cleared the APCON requirement by design, not by editing around it. It also gave me full control of pose, lighting, and composition across every execution.

My Role

I led the campaign's visual development end to end, solo: creative concept, art direction, the campaign visual system, key visual design, and all final art, built from Shutterstock and AI-generated source into production-ready executions.

Outcome

The campaign launched with a flexible visual system that supported multiple partners while holding a consistent identity across every execution. What began as an APCON compliance constraint became the campaign's defining visual language.

It runs across more than 10 partner brands on social, digital, billboards, Google Display Network, in-store screens, and merchandise, and remains live.
